Marwan Kheireddine, a businessman from Lebanon, has always placed a high importance on the country’s young people and has made it his mission to cultivate future business leaders among them. Marwan Kheireddine was a professor at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for over ten years, and during that time he instructed students in a variety of topics related to finance. These topics included corporate finance, risk assessment, and an introductory to economic information. According to him, more than 1,200 pupils went through his course, and a significant number of those students remain in contact with him.
AM Bank is a significant commercial bank in Lebanon, and Marwan Salim Kheireddine is now serving as both the bank’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in that capacity. Between the months July 2011 and February 2014, he held the position of Minister of State in the Lebanese Government. During his time in office, he was instrumental in a wide variety of economic, financial, and budgetary matters, playing a pivotal role in each. Because of his history in banking, he was in a particularly advantageous position to garner support for the establishment of regulations that would safeguard Lebanon’s banking sector and increase the country’s compliance with international laws and conventions.
Marwan Kheireddine is a firm believer in the concept of fostering economic growth by facilitating private investment. The circular treads new ground by enabling banks to invest in technology startups, incubators, and other related businesses and by offering financial incentives to do so. Kheireddine has been selected to serve on the board of directors of the Association of Banks of Lebanon on many occasions. Between the years 1993 and 2013, he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the American University of Beirut. Marwan Kheireddine received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics from Richmond University in the United Kingdom. He then went on to acquire his Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School in New York City.
