Restoring Dignity in the Society Inspired by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin

The minority in the society are facing challenges in all the parts of the world. This is because they’re denied their rights openly, and no one sees the need to punish the violators of such laws.

Some individuals have decided not to sit down and let the oppression and injustices become part of the society. This has triggered the formation of several humanitarian groups. Here are some philanthropic organizations in the community and what they believe in;

The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund

What is the first thought that hits your mind when you see a disabled person? Most people are filed with pity and think how much they must be suffering. The disabled people do not need sympathy, they opportunities. Many organizations have turned down job applications for individuals just because of their physical inabilities.

This attitude needs to be eliminated in the society. It is the high time that the community shows them affection and see them as normal human beings.

The DREDF organization fights to ensure that the rights of the disabled are advanced. They also educated them on their rights.

NAACP Legal Defense Fund

Racism has become a social threat to the nation. People judge others based on their color. This is wrong and misguided. There is no comparison between the skin color of a person and their personality. The character is molded and worked for to achieve. The NAACP Legal Defense Fund works to ensure that the community is educated against racism. When racism goes to extremes, they apply the mitigation method.

Arizona Project Justice

The inmates need love and affection. Some convicts end up in jail as a result of lack of proper legal representation. Some of these detainees claim to be innocent. It is unfair for them to spend all their time in jail paying for crimes they did not commit. The Arizona Project Justice fights to help such individuals.

They are also keen to assist inmates who may be in jail and claim to be sick or have serious illnesses, which need special medical attention.

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

The Frontera Fund was formed by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The Frontera Fund supports the humanitarian groups that fight for human, civil and immigrants’ rights in Arizona.

The co-founders are journalists and founded the Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media. They have a history of winning their legal battles. They also advocate for freedom of speech.
