Steve Hutensky, The Film Production Master

Steve Hutensky is a production manager, film executive, and producer living in Los Angeles, California. He has extensive experience in film and TV as a producer. He is the co-founder and chief operating officer for Made-Up Stories, a leading content creator, distributor, and marketer of premium short-form video.

Before the start of Steve’s career in film, he attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in history. Steve followed his time as an undergraduate by attending New York University, where he got his degree in law.

Steve Hutensky produced the acclaimed spiritual documentary “WAKE UP”, which was one of the highest-grossing documentaries of his career, and this was after founding made-up stories. The film was released in over 650 theaters and is now on Netflix streaming. Steve produced the documentary Holy Hell recounting the true dramatic stories of people who went from living everyday American lives to becoming completely devoted followers of God.

Made-Up Stories were featured in the first season of Amazon’s “Red Oaks” and partnered with both Amazon and Hulu to create, distribute and market the series. They’ve produced over 40 short-form videos, including the award-winning “True Story,” a series of one-minute videos, each chronicling a different person’s experiences.

On the screen side of made-up stories, Steve Hutensky is also an executive producer on various projects, including the Netflix thriller PIECES OF HER, starring Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey. That was attached to David Fincher’s directorial debut, “House of Cards,” written by Beau Willimon, which was nominated for multiple Emmy awards, including best drama series. Steve also produced the award-winning psychological thriller, “The Path,” starring Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan. Steve is currently working with Hulu to make three original series and will also produce for Netflix’s new comedy series “Lady Dynamite,” starring Maria Bamford and based on her life.
