Biography of NFL Quarterback Ben Rothlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger is the former quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent over 15 seasons playing for the iconic NFL franchise where he led them to two Super Bowl victories and an additional appearance in the Super Bowl during his career. Over the course of his 15-year NFL career, Ben established franchise records in passing yards, touchdown passes and career wins as a starting quarterback.

In 2004 he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Miami of Ohio University. He was drafted in the first round and quickly became the Steelers starting quarterback during his rookie season. One of the most impressive accomplishments during his career was when he led the Steelers to a 15-1 record and won his first 10 starts as a starting quarterback. While the Steelers lost in the AFC championship game to the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, Ben Roethlisberger made the Pro Bowl and established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League.

After a disappointing loss in the AFC championship game the season before, Ben led the Steelers to the Super Bowl the next season. In 2005, Roethlisberger guided the Steelers to a victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. This was the first Super Bowl the Steelers won in over three decades. During the next three seasons, Ben Roethlisberger helped the Steelers remain as one of the league’s elite teams. While they didn’t win another Super Bowl during this stretch, the Steelers were still a winning team that made the playoffs and competed for a Super Bowl under his leadership. In 2008, Ben helped the Steelers reach the Super Bowl where they defeated the Arizona Cardinals to win their second Super Bowl of the decade. During the remainder of his career, Ben continued to play at a high level and establish himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He eventually retired after the 2019 season.
