In American society, freedom of religion, speech and conscience are considered to be fundamental rights. Alliance Defending Freedom is an organization committed to fighting in court to defend people ability to exercise those rights. The organization also fights for people’s parental rights, the right to life and for the ability to create marriages and families according to God’s design.

Founded in 1994 by Christian leaders as Alliance Defense Fund, today the ADF is the largest legal organization on the planet fighting daily for the legal rights of people of all faiths, points of view, sexual orientations and cultures.

Religious Or Not

Alliance Defending Freedom has earned a reputation for being willing to aggressively defend the rights of Jews, Mormons, Muslims, or people of any other faith. They also defend people who do not worship any god at all. Even if the position or opinion people express is not popular, the ADF defends their right to do so. Alliance Defending Freedom believes being tolerant of and able to listen to and debate different ideas with which one disagrees is an essential element of citizenship in a democratic society. The ADF stands up for free speech on college campuses all over the United States.

Addressing Human Eights Worldwide

Many people are familiar with the many successes the ADF has had arguing cases in front of the Supreme Court representing conservative, libertarian, conservationist, pro-life and creative freedom causes. But the United Nations Economic and Social Council accredited Alliance Defending Freedom also represents a variety of clients and causes in the highest courts all around the world. They work on constitutional freedoms with legal organizations like the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe, the Organization of American States, European Parliament and Commission and has successfully argued in front of the European Court of Human rights 30 times.
