Shelton Haynes leading RIOC to greatness

Shelton was appointed president and CEO after serving as an acting leader in the same role. Shelton’s appointment was driven by his knowledge of issues, his ability to lead a team and do the job, and his relationships with the board of directors.

In addition, Shelton has a history of leading consensus-building efforts with members from different organizations. Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation requires a leader who can bridge divides that divide its stakeholders. That is why it was perfect for Shelton to be tapped for this position. The corporation was set aside primarily to develop the Island. However, this is better served with the cooperation of all parties involved. Shelton has a solid record of developing organizational and community relationships.

Shelton was born and raised in New York City. Shelton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology

From Hampton University. He has formal and informal knowledge of leading grassroots efforts and raising funds for the communities he serves.

He has worked with Roosevelt Island community board members to ensure that they are committed to their roles and embrace the growth of Roosevelt Island. RIOC has been in operation since 1984, and under its leadership, it has grown to be one of the most popular destinations in New York.

Shelton Haynes is currently leading RIOC in many fantastic projects within the public and private sectors.
