Steve Hutensky, The Lucrative Film Executive Producer
Steve Hutensky is an American based film executive and producer. Steve attended Dartmouth College, where he gained his Bachelor’s degree in History before starting his film career. In his undergrad period, he also attended New York University, where he acquired his law degree. Between 1995 to 2004, Steve served as a top executive holding senior creative and senior positions at Miramax Films. He also worked for Relativity Media from 209 to 2011 as the head of business affairs.
He had formed his own company, The Walk Entertainment, where he was an independent producer, a company that still runs today before working at Relativity Company.
Made Up Stories is a production company that Steve Hutensky co-founded. He is also the company’s Chief Operating Officer. The company is dedicated to voicing stories based on human experiences and diversities steered by versatile females on-screen.
Steve Hutensky recently produced Penguin Bloom, which premiered on Netflix. Secondly, he created The Dry, released in 2021, based on the Jane Harper novel. Third, he produced a film called The Nightingale, which won AACTA awards in the 2019 Special Jury Prize. Fourth while still in Made Up Stories, he created Little Monsters, which starred Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad and premiered in Sundance.
Steve is also an executive producer on several television-based films, including Pieces Of Her, a Netflix thriller tailored from Karin Slaughter’s book: Nine Perfect Strangers, a limited series based on Liane Moriarty’s book: Anatomy Of A Scandal based on Sarah Vaughan, an international bestseller; the Roar series tailored from Liz Flahive collection of short stories and Wolf Like Me starring Isla Fisher and Josh Gad. He was an executive producer of Queen America, produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer. Additionally, he served as a producer in films such as Cold Mountain, The Human Stain, and The King’s Daughter.
